ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
“The Devil’s in the Details” will spotlight artists whose works are defined by exceptional detail and precision. This exhibition aligns with the theme of “Formation” by exploring how intricate details contribute to the creation and makeup of ceramic art. Through meticulous craftsmanship, these artists transform raw materials into complex and nuanced pieces, demonstrating that the essence of formation lies in the smallest components.
Formation in ceramics involves not just the shaping of clay but also the infusion of texture, narrative, and meaning. Each detail-oriented piece in this exhibition exemplifies how fine elements collectively form the overall structure and identity of the artwork. By focusing on detailed work, we reveal how these tiny aspects play a crucial role in the artistic formation, enhancing both aesthetic appeal and conceptual depth. “The Devil’s in the Details” will highlight the technical mastery and creative ingenuity involved in producing such highly intricate works.
Among 65 entries, the committee selected 11 proposals to be showcased as Featured Exhibitions (five exhibitions are on a waitlist), including “The Devil’s in The Details”! The strength and diversity of these proposals made the review and decision-making process both stimulating and demanding.
